The city of Debrecen is the second largest city in Hungary and one of the cultural and social centres of Hungary.

Located in the centre of what is known to be the North Great Plain Region 230 km from the capital Budapest.

Historically the city is first cited in 1235 and is believed to have been formed from the amalgamation of several small villages in the area.

Conversely, today the city has developed into a thriving urban center and is home to over 210000 people.
